ATHENǼUM BAZAAR.

(ireat preparations were made yesterday for tho bazaar, which will bo opened, by tho president (Mr J. H. Barr) in tho Public Hall this afternoon ab half-pasb two. It is not sufficient to siy that tho hall is tastefully decorated ; there has been a complete transformation. The lull is nob an elegant btructure, bub for the notice thero is a change, and all thai is harsh and crude has given place to that which is full of beauty and grace— the result of decorative art. On entering the hall the first thing which .strikes the eye is the refreshment stall, which is provided by tho Girl's Club. The members of tho club havo again _ given (substantial proof of their groat interest in the Institute. Not only have they provided the still, but thoy havo undertaken the entire management of this department during the Bazaar. Afc tho back of this stall there is a cosy little toa room, where ono or oven two can rest awhile away from tho g'«e of tho busy crowd. The stalls for the reception of tho thousand-and-one things which will bo placed on them to-day are arranged on each .side of tho hall, and are draped with art muslin and decorated with great tasto. The platform is so arranged that visitors can rest thoro under tho shade of tho cypress and gum troo, and watch tho promenading in the hall below. Nothing has been left undone, and all concerned are to be congratulated on their work. Tho hall has assumed a most festivo appearance, and wo hope tho public, and in particular our friends from tho country, will not fail to visit tho |baza»', and] wo cy\ assure them they will nob como away disappointed.
