The directors of the Caledonian Gold M iniag Company in their report to the shareholders to-day, stated that the year had been unfavorable owinf to litiobon, «nd the f»ct that eertein mbhadtob* abandoned. Another call ie to be made. The Thames Gas Company has declared a dividend of 6 per cent. A telegram from Whangani states that the determination of the Government to throw the Pohipohi field open mnder the Mining Act has caused great surprise, as it was understood that special regulations were to be framed, with a view of granting leases. A quarter of » share in the prospector's daim has been o&Wedand refused for a half share.
