Loid Lome, foaled ( June, 1881, is a fine dark bay, stands 16 hands 3 inches high, with strong flat bone, fine flowing hair, aud excellent temper. Lord Lome wag Efot by that xinprecedented stallion Lome (499), who was the sire of the celebrated stallion Ivanhoe (396), who won the second prize at the Glasgow Agricultural Society's Stallion Show in February, 1876, and travelled Kirkmichael district of Ayrshire; second at tho Highland and Agricultural Society's Show at Edinburgh in 1877, in which year he was second premium borne of the Glasgow Agricultural Society. In 1878 he w.as selected as fii st premium horse at the Glasgow Agricultural Society, and won first prize at the Highland and Agricultural Society "a Show at Dumfrios. Lome (499) is by Glonlee (362), by Forth (307). Forth (307) won tbiid prize at the International Show at London in 1862, and is by Clyde (156), by Clyde (154), who won first prize at tho Highland Society's Show in 1842. Ilia sire, Clyde 2nd (167), by Clyde (162), by Lofty (453). who won many prizes in Lanarkshire and Clydesdale districts, and was never beaten but by his son, Young Clyde. Lord Loruo's dam, Maggie; siro, Prince Alfred (G18). by The General (322), who won first prize at the Highland Society* sShow at Invern"ss in 18G5, and was the siro o the renowned horse Sir Walter Scott (7%)» who gained first prize at \ tha Highland Society's Show at Dumfries in JSGO, nlso tho premium at the International Show held at Battcrsea. Sir Walter Scott (797) was the sire of the late Mr Drew's Prince of Wnlea (673), whose breeding and prize-winning require no comment, being the sire of more first prize, taking stallions than ny horse that ever stood in Scotland. Prince of Wales (673) stoo.l at Movryton Home Farm, Hnmilton, at L4rt a nmic, and sold at tho lato Mr Drew's Bale, in April last, for 900 guineas, when 18yeaisold. Lord Lome's grand-dam, Tibby, by the President (096), who won second prizo at the Highland Society's Show at GJaogcw in 1867, is got by Lochen'i Champion (448) who won first prize at the Highland Society's Show at Perth in 1851, the gold medal of the same society at Kelso in ISb'.S, tho second prize at the Royal Agricultural Society's Show at Battorsea in 1862, and the Glasgow premium in 1863, thus proving Lord Lorno to be descended from the best and purest Clydesdale blood in Scotland.
