AUCKLAND.
April 29. Sailed — ArowaitJ, for Westport. Tho Hon. J. Ballance left to-day by the Gairloch, for Waitara, en route for Wellington.
An eleven-roomed house on the Cranabar Estate, the Agricultural Company's property, for the residence of Mr M'Lean, has been burned down. It was unoccupied during the past fortuight ; supposed incendiarism. It ia stated that it was insured ia the New Zealand, bub the amount is not known.
Thomai Hind Tapping, for uttering a forged order, was committed for trial.
'(he elx-houra' walking conteat between W. Speight and D. M'Lune, for the championship of Auckland, comes off on Saturday.
