LoRD Lyon is a bright bay, rising 4 years, with black points, stands 17 hands high, with plenty of bono and hair, feet of the most durable kind, and superior in action to moat draught horses. Lord Lyon is by the celebrated horse Young Banker, whose pedigree and performances are so well known that it is unnecessary to. dwell upon them here. Lord Lyon's dam is the well-known mare Maggie Lauder, imported from Victoria by Mr George Aitkenhead j sire Lord Lyon ; dam by the celebrated horse Ben Lomond. Lokd Lyon took third prize as a yearling in Christchurch, and last year he took second prize in Oamaru as a three year old. These were the only times he was shown. Gratis was imported from Melbourne by Joseph Packman, Esq., at considerable expense, and was selected personally by him from among some of the finest horses of his class. Pedigree : BIKDC'ATCHER, by Ladykirk (imported), dam Brunette, by Athos (imported), dam Mr Joseph Harper's celebrated mare, The Nun, dam of Rollo, The Monk, Amateur, and other wellknown horses, the winners of our greatest steeplechases.
