Tho schooner Sovereign, which left Port Chalmer* on Wednesday afternoon, arrived here yesterday afternoon. The date of the sailing of the Union corrpany'a e.s. Mahinapua has again been postponed till Monday, the Ist June. The Christchurch papers announce the arrival of Captain Cross 1 brigaptine Kenil■woith, on Wedntsday, at Lyttelton, trom Mercury Bay, with a cargo of timber. The timbtr is for Messrs M'Callum and Co, and a portion wi.l be landed at Lyttelton for the firm's Auhburton branch, after which tho Kenilworth will bring the remainder on here.
The Union company's a.s. Penguin leaves for Lyttelton, Welliugton, Flcton, Nelson, New rlymonth, and Manakau on Mooday. the Ist Jane.
