NEW ZEALAND INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION, 1882. MESSRS JOUBERT ANT) TWOPENY, PROMOTERS. OFFICIAL PROGRAMME. TN 1878 tho population of New Zealand numbered 414,000. In 1881 it bad increased to 534,250, and this, although tho total area of tho islands is only 99,960 square miles, or about th«t of Great Britain and Ireland, Hence, it has been thought desirable to invite tho Manufacturers of Europe, America, and Australia, as well ss of New Zealand itself, to assist in holding in CHRISTOHUnCII-as the most cen' rally situated city — an INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF ARTS AND INDUSTRIES. REGULATIONS, 1. Applications for space, with full par* Mculars of tho intended exhibit, can bemdae at once at tho office) of the undersigned, and will bo received up till tho Ist February, 1882. 2. The ordinary charge for spaco will bo two shillings for each of the first twenty ■quare feet, and one (hilling for every additional square foot ; but exhibitors desiring a frontage to the Main Avenue for their cases can obtain it on payment of an addi'innal fivo shillings per foot of such frontage, irrespective of depth. A passage of from two to three feet will bo left round eaoh case when desired, and exhibitors desirous of having spaces againtt the wall should mention tho fact at the time of application. Speoial arrangements for tho purchase at five guin«aa a piece of bays, having twolve feet frontage by fifteen feot depth, can be made, but exhibitors purchasing such bays must leave their own passages inside them. All applications must be accompanied by payment of the full amount for tho space. 3. Space in the Exhibition Grounds can bo obtained at tho rate of one guinea for tho drat one hundred squaro feet, and one penny for every additional square foot. 4 Tho general reception of articles in the Exhibition Building will commence on Ist of March, and ceaso tho Saturday hefore tho opening, after which date no exhibits can 1)0 received, and all vacant spaces become forfeited. 5. AH exhibits must bo removed 'vithin ten days after tho close of the Exhibition, after which time they will be removed and stored at the risk and expense of tho owner. 6. Exhibits will bo admitted in bond, and can only be sold to be delivered at tho close of tho Exhibition ; but oxhibitors who wish to make sales with immediate dolivory must pay duty in advance together with a licenso fee of L 2 10s per,weok per stand, payable in advance. 7. All fittings, show cases, shelving, oto., which exhibitors require must be provided at their own exponsc. 8. Tho executivo reserve tho right of rojecting any proposed exhibit, and the introduction of dangerous or offensive substances is strictly prohibited. 9. Every precaution will bo taken for tho safe preservation of all exhibits against theft or fire ; but the oxeoutivo can undertake no responsibility for accidents however earned. 10. Gold, silver, and bronze medals will bo awarded to exhibits showing espeoial 1 morit. 11. An official catalogue will be published, 12.
