On Thursday Major Atkinson mnd Mr Oliver, accompanied by Mr Blair, Governmenfc Engineer, will visit the districts south of Dunedin. At the Primitive Methodist Conference to-day, the following list of stations for ministers was adopted finally : New Plymouth, Joseph Sharp ; Wellington, D. Dutton, A. J. Smith, W. J. Dean ; Auckland (1), Joseph Lon? ; Auckland (2), James Guy; Invercargill, Char E. Ward ; Timaru, John Dumbell; Thames, T. W. Adamson; Dunedin (1), W. S. Potter ; Dunedin (2), C. E. Barley ; Greenvale, P. W. Jones; Ashburton, John Nixon ; Ohristchurch, Josiah Ward ; Manawatu, T. Sadler, Robert B. Horsley ; Garaldine, J. H. Luke ; Oamaru, James Clover. The 1882 Conference will be held at Wellington on January 13th next. Otago promises are to be most strongly represented at the New Zealand "Rifle Association's meeting in March next. The North Dunedin Riflss will probably send seven men, including Sergeants Richardson, Johnston, Corporal Hutchinson, Volunteer Marshall. The City Guards will be well represented by Captain Wilson, Volunteer Smith, and Corporal Webster, while Volunteer Harding and Bandsman King go from North Ot»?o. The Clutha team will be five men' if possible, and Invercargill is sure to send at least one representative.
