Blackleg won altogether 54 First and 2 Second Prises, Princess Maude, the best mare that ever left Scotland, was half-sister to Blackleg. Heather Jock'a Hum was Lily Cromwell, the winner of 1 3 First Prieca at Melbourne, Kyneton Melton, Bacchus Marsh, Castlemaine, Gisborne, and Carisbrook. She was got by Old Bromwoll (imp.) His grand-dam was 11. M'Dougall's mare Old Lily, by Grey Champion (imp.) Jock's great-grand-dam was a celebrated Clydesdale maro imported from Scotland. The Celebrated Norfolk Trotting Stallion GOLDPINDER, Will travel the Distriots of Papakaio, Maerewhenua, Ngapara, Otepopo, and Hninpdcn this season, GOLDFINDER is a steel grey, with black points, stands 15 hands 3 inches high, is very powerfully made, and has nice symmetry of form, with splendid action. Goldfinder was bred by William Webb, Eiq., of Hicoarton, near Christchurch ; is by the imported horse Quicksilver, out of Lady Ma.caret, by Wellington (imported) ; grand dam Fanny, by Sir Hercules -Sir Hercules being tho progenitor of the "Now Zealand Turf, and long proclaimed and proved to bo the best blood sire in the Australian Colonies. Quicksilver was imported from England by J. W. Ladbrook, Esq., to Can^«rbury in 1864. He was bred by John Coker, Esq., Lynn, Norfolk, by Prickwillow. His dam, a Phenomenon mare, the property of John Bond, Esq., Old Prick willow, was the champion ot all roadsters. GOLDFINDER has taken several first prizes as the best Hacknoy Stallion at some of th« principal shows as a weight-carrier and roadster ; his equal is not in the Province. He is one of the best stock getters that ever travelled. His stock, like him* self, show unmistakeablc signs of being excellent trotters. From his well-known character, as well as the Talue of his stock, further comment is unnecessary. Good Paddocks provided for mares from a distance.
