HEATHER JOCK was bred in Victoria by Thos. Watson, Esq. His sire was the celebrated imported norse Blackleg (71 Scottish Clydesdale Stud Book), who won tho Highland and Agricultural Society's Gold Medal in 1859, and the Champion Prize at the Grand National Society's Show in Victoria. Blackleg won altogether 64 First and 2 Second Prizes. Princess Maude, the best mare that ever loft Scotland, was half-sister to Blackleg. Heather Jook's dam was Lily Cromwell, the winner of 13 First Prizes at Molbourne, Kyneton. Melton, Bacchus Marah, Castlemaine, Giaborne, and Carisbrook, She was got by Old Bromwell (imp.) GOLDFINDER is a steel grey, with black points, stands 15 hands 3 inches high, ia very powerfully made, and has nice symmetry of form, with splendid action. Goldfinder was bred by William Webb, Esq., of Riccarton, near Christchuroh ; ia by the imported horse Quicksilver, out of Lady Ma.caret, by Wellington (imported) • grand dam Fanny, by Sir Hercules — Sir ll«rculet being the progenitor of the Now Zealand Turf, and long proclaimed and proved to ba the best blood sire in the Australian Colonies. Quicksilver was imported from England by J. W. Ladbrook, Esq., to Canterbury in 1864. He was bred by John Coker, Esq., Lynn, Norfolk, by Prick willow. His dam, a Phenomenon mare, the property of John Bond, Esq., Old Priokwillow, was the champion of all roadsters. GOLDFINDER has taken several first prizes as tho beat Haoknoy Stallion at nome of tho principal shows aa a weight-carrier and roadster ; his equal is not in tho Province, He is ono of the best sftck getters that ever travelled. His stook, like himself, show unmistakeable signs'of being excellent trotters. From his well-known character, as well as the value of hia stook, further comment is unnecessary. Good Paddooks provided for mares from a distance. One month's grass free for mares during tho season ; after that, 2s 6d per week wili be charged. All oare^taken, but no responsibility.
