Mr W. PI. Lovion, M.H.R., senior mombor for tlio City, addressed his constituents this evening, and in a lengthy address fjavo a recapitulation of his action during tlio lato session. Ho ostimated tho doficioncy to March 31 at about LI ,050,000. but this would bo reduced by L 230,000, retrenchment in various dopartmonts. In conclusion, Mr Lovion received a unanimous voto of confidences At a moeting of tho Firo Brigades, rolativo to tho stoppago of Corporation and insuranco companies' subsidies, it was resolved that unless a satisfactory arrangement is como to tho engiuo stations bo locked after noon of tho 13th inst., and members requested not to turn out.
