Pedigree : HEATHER JOCK was bred in Victoria by Thos. Watson, Esq. His siro was tho celebrated imported norse Blackleg (71 Scottish Clydesdalo Stud Book), who won tho Highland and Agricultural Society's Gold Medal in 1850, and the Champion Prize at tho Grand National Society's Snow in Victoria. Blackleg won altogether 54 First and 2 Second Prizes. Princess Maude, tho best maro that ever left Scotland, was half-sister to Blackleg. Heather Jock's dam was Lily Cromwell, tho winner of 13 First Prizos at Molbourno, Kyneton Melton, Bacchus Marsh, Castlomaine, Gisborne, and Carisbrook. Sho was got by Old Bromwell (imp ) His grand-dam was R. M'Dougall's mare Old Lily, by Grey Champion (imp.) Jock's groat-grand-dam was a celebrated Clydesdalo maro imported from Scotland. Goldfinder was bred by William Webb, Esq., of Riccarton, near Christchurch ; is by tho imported horso Quicksilver, out of Lady Margaret, by Wellington (imported) ; grand dam Fanny, by Sir Hercules — Sir Horculo* being tho progenitor of tho Now Zealand Turf, and long proclaimed and proved to bo tho best blood siro in tho Australian Colonics. Quicksilver was imported from England by J. W. Ladbrook, Esq., to Canterbury in 18G4. Ho was bred by John Coker, hsq., Lynn, Norfolk, by Priekwillow. His dam, a Phenomenon mare, the property of John Bond, E«q.. Old Priekwillow, was the champion ot all roadsters. Jean's dam, Kate, as a 2-year old Becurcd second at Taieri and first at Dunedin ; as a 3 year old was first at Taiori and fust at Dunedin, whilo tho following year she not only took first as tho boat brood maro, but was awarded the Champion Cup, presented by Messrs Wright, Stophcnson and Co., for tho best animal in tho yard. Young Princo of Wales, imported by Henry flille, Esq , Wantwood, Southland, and bred by LaM'renco Drew, Esq., Worryton, Hamilton. Beforo leaving Homo he wns awarded two firsts, and has beacon all tho horses of noto in the Colonies. His sire. Old Princo of Wales, stands, and has stood for the last four years, at £40. Prince Royal, as a yearling, took socond prizo at Timatu, first at Christchurch, and first at Oamaru. When 2 years, was second at Timaru, and first at Oamaru; when 3 years was second at Oamaru. Ho is now reckoned tho best horse of his years in Now Zealand, and has proved himself a suro foalgetter.
