G. B. Worgan'. trial luted all day. At midnight the jury brought in a verdict of guilty of forgery and guilty of uttering without intent to defraud. The prisoner laid he could not understand the verdict, but admitted he had had an impartial triiJ. Had he been at liberty itnoe committal, he would have been able to procare exonerating evidence. He trusted to public opinion arriving at different results than the jury, and threw himself on the mercy of the judge. Mr Justice Richmond, in passing sentence, said he would take into account the faot that, in all probability the prisoner did not intend to defraud to the full amount, but had merely dabbled in the crimt. Prisoner waa sentenced to two years, with hard labor.
