AUCKLAND. January 30.
The Customs 1 duties collected to-day at Auckland amounted to L 2275 13a sd. A report has just been brought into town to the effect that a man, name unknown, was seen this afternoon to jump from the top of tire Re ware wa bridge, in the YVhau district, into the bed of the creek on to an almost dry bottom of rock, a "distance of over 30 feet. A settler rode into town, and the police went out and found that the man was Hay yard, an upholsterer of this pl.ice, who had been drinking hard lately, and was in the horrors. He still lives, and the doctor gives hopes of his ultimate recovery.
