SUFFERINGS OF A SHIPWRECKED CREW. (PER PRESS AGENCY.) Auckland, July 20.

Tho schooner Nelly has arrived from tho friendly Islands, bringing Pablo Sainaba, Louis Oliver, W. Gib-ion, James Hill, John Morgan, Edward Clevely, and John M'Gownn, the remaining survivors of tho Bhipwrecked barque Kcdar; nnd tho following crew of the barque Leola, also wrecked : — George Reid, Hugh M'lntosh, \V. Cailos, James Peterson, Elward M'Leod, and J. M'Gowan. The latter gives tho following account of his sufferings on Kan : — I landed on the island on the sth May, with the chief officer and his party, but was suffering from fever, dysentery, and ague, and had to be left behind, and wandered about tho island by myself, h.iving nothing t > oat but grass, le-wej, and shrubj. I could not get water anywhere and had to do without it for eight days. One evening, that of tho fourth day of my sojourn on tho island, I saw Jamieson, the second mate, on top of the island. Mo was on o*«o sido of a deep gully, and I was on the other, but could not get over to bun. He c illcd out that he was tired, and was goin^ to be there all night. I also lay down" on the spot where I was, nnd when I awoke next morning I cooeyed to him but found no response. I did not see him again. I have no doubt ho is dead. After that time I wandered about half naked, with scarcely anything to eat, sleeping every night in the open air, and became very weak. On tho 30th I heard coooys in tho distance, and replied to them, at thosuno time goin# in that direction. After some time poisons came up, whom I found to bo two natives in search of Jamieson and myBcK. They took me in a c.»noo to tho island of Japua, and I lived in one of tho native houses two days. M'Gowan then describe* liis subsequent kind treatm >nt by Mr Watkins, missi-miry, m I King George, of Tonga, to whom tho ciew presented a tjitinioiual.
