THE MAYORALTY ELECTION.

(To the Editor of the North Otago Times ) Sm, — In building up a cause it is almost necessary that ono should havo a sound foundation to stand upon. Mr Sumpter can hardly complimont himsolf on having such in those allies who carry I on the pen and ink war for him. Hitherto their utterances have lacked ono of the essentials in forwarding any cause — truth. Let us hope, in the interests of straightforwardness, that (after the election) thoy will seriously entertain the idea of reforming.—l am, &c, TIIUTJI.
