Mi' A. 11. Maitdk reports the sale of Sees. 1 and (>, Block VII., Iloidston, with buildings thereon, for tho sum of L 195. Also of a quantity of Bundry goods, at fair rate 3. Yesterday, on tho Harbor Board Block, he pold about 30,000 feet assorted timber, ox Richard and Mary. Owing to the market being over-supplied, very low rates were obtained.
At MrMAßiN's opening milo, to-day, 1500 bushels oats realised 4s per bushel, not, cash.
Mr Henky Driver (on behalf of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company) reports for tho week ending July 4th :— Fat Cattle— lo7 head wero yarded at tho Market to-day, Although this uumber was a -very short supply, prices did not experience any advance as would ho expected. Best pens of bullocks brought from Ml toLI4; cowl, L 6 10s to L 9 10s —or equal to 80s per 1001b for prime quality. At tho yards we sold 30 head at above rates. Fat Calves. — 4 only wero ponned, which readily sold sold at 25s to 70s each. Fat Sheep. — 1148 were ponned. Tim was alio an unusually short supply, but prices remained as at last week. Best cross-breds brought from 0a to 12a 6d ; merinos, 4s 6<\ to 6s — or equal to 2£d per lb for really good mutton. Store Cattle and Sheep. — Thero is no change of importance to note in this class of stock. During tho week we have sold 3000 sh«ep, and hay one or two small lots of cattle. Wool. — Wo have received the following cablegram from our London office, dated "£7th June — Sales closed yesterday without change but firm at last advance. 268,000 bales were offered, of which a good mnny parcels comprised second-hand lots from last sole. 65,000 bales woro withdrawn for. future disposal. 145,000 bales Avero taken for the Continent ; 5000 bales were taken for America; and (3,000 bales were taken for Home consumption. 300,000 bales are expected for next sales, date not fixed. Wo ■old a few odd lots at our auction, Monday, at fair rates. Sheepskins. — We had a good catalogue of skim, 1500, which sold at advanced prices, butohers' green oi osi-breds bi inging 3s lOd to 4a 5d ; merino?, 2s 6d to 3s ; station skins, Bid to GJd. Hides. — Supply small this weok, prices unaltered. Butcher*' green, 21» (Ids wot salted, 4&d to sd. Tallow. — A few small lots of country rendered sold at 20s to 32s per owt. • Grain. — Whoat, vory little offering, mostly inferior and medium samples, 5« to We quote good milling, 7s 6a to 7s 9d. Oats — Shipping parcels have been sold at 3s 6d. At auction wo sold some small lots, medium quality feed, at 3» 3d to 3s dd ; good milling are worth 3s Bd. Barloy— Scarcely any transactions in this grain. Wo sold a parcel of discolored malting at 3s 6d ; seed barloy at 3s.
