SYDNEY. April 10.

Weather fine. The Exhibition was opened at noon by the Governor, with brief formality. The member* of the Government, the Corporation, leading citizens, and a large concourse of people were present. Owing to the Live Stock Show being deferred till the 17th, and extensive machinery being in a state of unpreparedness, the building presented an unfinished appearance outside. The Canadian and American courts are not yet ready, but the main building is in order, and presented an interesting spectacle. The pastoral, mining, and agrioulral industries were, well represented ; fine arts poor, and the sections representing minor industries well filled. W. H. Watt, of Wanganui, was highly commended for his wool exhibits. Two other exhibits of wool, in a different class, by the same exhibitor, were also highly commended.
