CHRISTCHTJRCH. — The " Lyttelton Times " of the 8th instant reports : — The past week has been an exceedingly dull one in the pmin market, which in a measure is atttibtited to the holidays. Transactions in grain ave of a nominal c-haracter, moat of the business being confined to second hand transaction's. A small p»rcel of whrat changed hands at 3s 9d, but for good milling buyers are offering 4s. Outs are very dull, and there is no disposition evmeed on the part of merchants to operate fully at late rates ; for good feed, Is 9d to Is lOd is offered ; and for prime milling Id to 2d extra, according to quality. There is no change to note in burley, which hangs heavy — quotations nominal. There is a fuir demand for dairy produce, but deliveries are coming forwnrd slowly. Buyers' quotations are — Butter, 7£d to 8d ; cheese, 6id to 7d. There is no change to note in millers' quotations.

HOBART TOWN. — The "Mercury" of the 21st ult. report! : — No change lms taken place in the market since our last leporfc. Wheat keeps steiuiy at 5s to 5s Id, according to quality, and it is doubtful if any improvement will take place this year. Flour is selling at Lll to Lll 10s. Bran brings Is to Is Id, and sharps L7. Oats can be bought at from 2s 8d to 3s, but very few sales are reportfd. We quote beat loose liny, L4> ; and pressed, JA 5s to L4 10a. Peas and beans are fetching 3s 9d. For dairy produce we quote : — Fresh butter, 9d to Is; new potted, lOd to Is ; chrese, 8d to 10d ; bacon, 8d to 9d ; ham, 9d to lOd. Long bark is worth up to L4 5s. i The jam making season haa commenced, but as yet only a small quuntity of soft fruit has come in. We quote : — Smooth gooseberries, 4s per bushel ; red do., 5s per bushel j strawberries, 4d per lb.

LAFNCESTON.— The " Clironicle" of the 20th nit. sajs : — Fiour, in wholesale parcels, is quoted at L10 per ton ; wheat is steady at 4s 9d to 4s 10,1 per bushel ; feed oatfl are dull | at 2a 4d to 2s 6d per bushel ; fine slmrps, L6 per ton ; coarse ditto, L5 per ton ; bran, L4 per ton. Old potatoes are nearly out of the market, but veully good parcels are worth L3 per ton ; new potatoes are plentiful at Id per Ib ; hay, L3 5s oer ton. Freeh butter of primp quality is plentiful at lOd to Is per lb retail ; ejrgs have become rather scarce at Is 2d to Is 3d pet dozen retail.

BRISBANE.— The "Courier" of the 11th ulfc reports : — Business in the produce market dur ing the week has lemained steady at late quotations, maize perhaps, now quoted at 4s per bushel, being the only line that shows less firmness in price ; the market at present, in consequence of the heavy shipments recently armed from the Clarence River, being fully supplied. Potatoes, although still coming forward through local sources, rather freely, remain at last week's quotations— viz., L5 IO3 to L6 per ton. Bran continu< s scarce, and worth from L9 10a oer ton. Butter ia dearer, and fully worth 15d per lb. A good demand is being met with for cheese, that from Tns manian dairies realising I5d, and New South Wales and local from lOd to 13d per lb. Bacon also meets with a good enquiry, §upplies not beini? equal to demand, and Is per lb for good sound parcels is readily obtainable.
