IN compliance with recommendations contained in tho lioports of tlio Flax Commission Committee, nnd of tlio Joint Committee on Colonial Indmhies, to the effect that " premiums not exceeding in the whole £500 should bo granted for tho oncournqempiit of Serieiculture in tho Colony," «nd that the development of certain industrial pursuits would often bs best promotod by the offer of a bonus on production, tlio following Rowurds are offered, subject to tho undermentioned conditions : — A bonus of 60 per cent, oh tho value realisod ia offered for tho production of the flrHt £1,01)0 worth of cocoons of tho Silkworm or cgus of tho Silkworm produced in tho Colony, to bo paid on quantities of not loss valuo than £50 or moro than £100 produuod by any one person. To any person or persons who bIkiII ninnufacturo, within tho Colony, from Now Zealand flax — For the first 600 reams of Printing Papor, tv sum of £400 i and a furihor sum of £350 for tho first 500 reams of Packing Pupor ; and tho hko sum for tho first 10,000 yards of Scrim-cloth suitable for covoring flax balos.
