Colonial Secretary's Office, Wellington, 18th November, 1872. IN fcompliande with a resolution of the House of Representatives, pafised on 22nd,October, 18^2, a Bonus i« hereby offerod for thb encouragement of certain Colonial . Industries, .namely : — Iron. .'/ B"dNO8 6r £5000. Nor the production in New Zealand of. 1000 ton's weight of Pig Iron, of marketable quality; CONDITIONS. 1. The bonus nof. td be given fdr s any quantity less than 100 tons. 2. Notice of- the intention to erect Iron Works and claim the bonus mgst be given to the Colonial Secretary, bbfora.31st (December, 1873. • 3. The bonus must bo claimed' before the 30th June, 1873. 4 In the event of more than one claimant giving such notii-p, not^more than seventenths of the bonus may be claimed by the first producer, and not more than threetenths by the second producer ; but if only one claimant becomes a ■ producer*, on the above conditions, he may claim the whole of the bonus. 5. Tlje Iron in respect p{ which any bonus J is claimed will be examined by nn officg'- to be appointed by tho .Government, who may require the production of bona fide account sates 0f quantities no( leia than 100 tone Weight, showing that such Iron has been sold at a fair market price as Pig Iron. STEEL. ' Bonus op £1000. For the production in .New Zealand of' 100 tdns weight of marketable Steel from Magnetic Or Titanilerous Iron Sand or Iron Ore ' CONDITIONS. 1. Notice must be given to the Colonial Secretary of the intention to claim this bonus before the 80th June, 1873. 2. Tho claim for payment of the bonus must be made before 30th June, 1874. 3. The ( bonua will be paid to the producer who effrcts the first bona fide s ile of tho above quantity of Steel at a fair market price. SUGAR. 1 Bonus of £2000. For the production of 250 tdns of Sugar manufactured from Beetroot in New Zealand. CONDITIONS. 1. Notice of the intention to claini this bonus must be given to the Colonial Secretary before 31st December, 1873. 2. Claims for payment of the bonus to be sent in before 30th June, 1876. 3. The bonus will be paid tb the producer" who. first effects a bona fide sale of tho amount of Sugar specified. PAPER. Bonus op £2500. For the production of 100 tons of Printing" Paper, manufactured in New Zealand, by Machinery. CONDITIONS. 1. Notice of the intention to claim this bonus must be given to the Colonial Secretary before 31st January, 1873. 2. The Paper niUBt be made by machinery, permanently established and working in the Colony. ; 3. Claims for payment of the bonus must be sent in before 31st December, 1874. 4. The bonus will be paid to the producer who effects the first bona fide sale of the amount of Printing Paper specified. FISH. Bonds or 4s. pek cwt. Tin's bonus will be paid on Cured Fish, dry or pickled, exported from the .Colony ,for consumption abroad. Conditions. • 1. The bonus will be paid to the producer ori. the production of account sales showing ,that thefFish has been sold out of the .Colony for fair market value. 2. The exporter to enter into a bond not ito reland. in the Colony any Fish oa Which a bonus has been paid. 8. The bonus may be claimed on all Fish exported botwedn 1st November^ 1872, and /lst ,No,vem.ber, 1879, and is to be paid out of any moneys appropriated by Parliament , for the purpose. 1 The above rewards will be paid pn the certificate of an officer appointed by Governtndnt that the conditions applicable to each have been complied with.
