CRICKET.

In consequence of tha non-arrival of the members of the Dunedin Citizens' Club, expected on Saturday, and as manj of those who had arranged to take part in the match with this club on the Oamaru side had come from a considerable distance, and were determined to hare some play, it w^ arranged that the final game for the season between " Married and Single" should take place. The wickets were pitched about 12 o'clock. The play, on the whole, was very good, and the " Single" have to congratulate themselves upon having a new member in the club in Mr Cuff, who was not present in the first innings, but who scored thirty-five and took ten wickets in the second innings. We were glad to see so many ladies on the ground, who seemed to take great interest in the game, especially when the Bachelors were " killing the bowling." A change of bowlers was made no less than seven times to dispoie of two wickets — Messrs Julius and Allan obstinately refusing to go out ; the latter, indeed, carried out his bat. The luncheon provided for the Dunedin team was consumed by the scratch 22 at the Star and Garter Hotel, but many were the regrets that the men of the D.C.C.O. were not to the fore. The following are the scores : —
