For all beaten horses during the day. RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. The decision of the Stewards to be final ; no entries received except on this condition. 2. Any person eutering a protest mnst deposit the sum of £2 2s. with the Stewards before it can be considered, which will be forfeited to the funds should such protest be considered frivolous and vexatious. 3. Any persons wishing to make private matches shall pay 10s. each to the Race Fund, notice being given to the Secretary. 4. The first race to commenco at 12 o'clock sharp, and all horses must be at the starting-post at the ringing of tho second bell or they may be diB* qualified. 5. No person to entor a horse unless a subscriber to the Race Fund of not less than £2, except for Hack Races. 6. The Otago Jockey Club Rules will bo strictly adhered to, except when otherwise specified. 7. All entries and acceptances " must be in sealed covers, addressed to the Secretary, at the Royal Hotel, containing entrance-money, description and age of horse, and colors to be worn by the jockey, on the Hth day of March, at or before 8 p.m. No entries receired after that hour on any pretence whatever, except letters bearing post-mark of the 11th March. 8. Any jockey not riding in the colors declared on the night of general entro will be lined £2. 9.
