The grain market still continues dull and but little change in price has taken place. Old whefct remains at 4s per bushel, oats have been ofiered at 2s, but their condition was not such as to attract purchasers. Flour Lll 10s to L12. Bran and pollard L3 10s to L4. Barley (nominal) 2s 7d per bushel. Harvesting is being actively carried on throughout the district. The wheat crops are light, but the appearance of the grain good, although it is doubtful if the flour from late sown wheat will be equal to last crop. There is not much barley sown, but if the present good weather should continue, it will be of a much better quality than that of last year. There i3 a good area, down in oats, and, although, several large patches are damaged with blight, there will be a good crop.
Messrs Maude and Bee report that at their sale of furniture, kc, at Meadow Bank, on Tuesday the 31st ult, the attendance was good, and the prices realised satisfactory. Also, at the sale of the furniture of Mr A. Morton, the attendance was large, and fair prices realised.
