The Maeeewhexua Mails.— A Maerewhenua correspondent writes :— " Thero are Rient complaints about the way in which the mail anangements aie being carried out in this district. Thero i-s great irregularity, for iu&tkiicc, the mails which nhould have arrived on Friday, the lflth inst., did not arrive until last Friday, the 27th inst., when the two week's mails came at one time. How is this ? I ara told that the post-boy who takes the down mails from the diggings to tho Maerewhenua post office, finding th.it tho ut>couch had not arrived, left tho bags at the hotel, nod returned empty-handed. Had he waited n bhort time wo could have got our lettors. I assure you great inconvenience has been experienced, and wo waut to know who is responsible for this irregularity— tho post-boy or the Post-office ?
