ACCLIMATISATION.
At a meeting of the Acclimatisation Society, held in Dunedin on the 22nd instant (says the " Daily Times"), the manager reportod that the trout wore doing well, He had counted out 476 fish into locked boxes, and he felt confident that the number would soon be increased by 200. Mr Carrick said that in going to the ponds this morning he saw two English larks in the neighborhood of Captain Boyd's property. It was also mentioned that chaffinches were building nests in property in Heriot Row ; and that the starlings were building at Mr Clifford's house. Mr Carrick reportod that the deer had all arrived safely at Mr Rich's. They had been placed in a oplendid paddock, and were fed every day. Mr Rich had gone to very great expense in the matter. He had fenced and paid the cost of carriage, and had also sent the Society a cheque for L25. The manager said that the one deer thac had escaped had returned to the Society's grounds.
