AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL SOCIETY OF OTAGO.
We are now enabled to publish further particular! r«•pectrog the Second AnnualJExhibition, held in Dunedin last week, under the auspices of the abore «ociety. We are indebted for the same to the column* of the " Daily Including the prizt list of the Horticultural Society, which held a Show in conjunction with that of the larger association, there were upwards of 200 separate lots for which prizes were offered; and, in each instance, first and second prizes were given with the addition of an honorary certificate," where the competition was sufficiently extensive to permit of such certificate being gr !?/ ed : ,, The numbe " of entries for these prizes were —Of cattle, 83; of horses, 79; of sheep, 150 pens : of pigs, 61 pens or single entries ; of poultry, 20 ; of imPknwnw, &c, 56 : of dairy and other produce, 45; and ' extra,' 27. There was an impression prevalent that, in point of numbers, tho Show was inferior to that of last year, but these numbers are, in each instance, a considerable percentage above the entries of last year ; and in respect to quality, the Show of this year has, by competent judges, been recognised as having been considerably in advance of its predecessor. The following gentlemen were the Judges in tho different classes : — Horses— Messrs Robert Stuart, James Kennedy, B. Hamilton, and W, Craig. Merino Sheep— Messrs James HasselL of Oamaru • James Gardner, do. ; W. P. Gordon, do. Longwoolled Sheep— Messrs T. J. Ord, Davidson and Taylor. Cattle — Messrs Jopp and others. Pigs— Messrs Geo. Dodson, T. B. Neilson, and "Watson Shennan. Poultry— George Dobson, T. B. Neilson, and C. 0. Armstrong. Implements— Messrs Kennedy, Douglas, and Church. Dairy Produce— Messrs Tire, Mercer, and Wright. We give the prize list for Cattle, Horses, and Sheep. In the Machinery Class, Messrs T.
