Oamaru Times Office, Thursday Evening.
The Christmas holidays, as uiual, have materially interfered with trade, which, may be reported unchanged in tone. Wool is daily arriving in quantities ; but we learn that the loads this year are light, owing to the state of the roads in the interior, especially between the] Barren Flat and Otekaike. Recent floods have so changed the rivjr beds, that draying over them requires the utmost care and very light loads. This will considerably delay the delivery of wool here, and perhaps the sailing of the wool vestels. Our mercantile houses should look into this matter. Messrs Royse, Mudie and Miller's next horse sale is announced to be held to-morrow (Saturday). At Messrs Driver, M'I*an and Co.'s next Wool Sales on or about 2nd January, there will be about 1000 bale* offered.
