We have pleasure in lepoiting that since our last issue, with .tho e\copti<m of yesterday, rain has fallen almost without intermission in gentle and refreshing showers. After a five months' spell of unexceptioriiilly dry weather, the" change did not come a moment too won, and the lieuefifc to the country in consequenco of it in simply incalculable. DUNEDIN.— A tolerable extent ,of business has been done through the week, "notwithstanding the unpropitious weather and -the quiet which generally procedes the anival and depaiture of the English mails. The flour markers without life, aud in consequence of the cessation of shipments to the northern ports sales to any extent cannot bo made, and though prices have not materially given way, there is a tendency in that direction ; Chilun is quoted at L14 10s ; falifornian, L15 ; Adel.vido, L17 to L17 10s. In the spirit market sales of Henne&sy's and Martell'a bulk and case brandies have been made. For tho- principal transactions tho rates have not transpired.
