• Owing to tlio flooded state of the streams in the interior, tlieie has been & partial stoppage to the cartage of wool from the stations dm ing the week. Owing to this, the loading of tho Star of Tasmania has been considerably retarded, bat an opportunity has been afforded , for stowing *way what has been shipped. She has now received over 1900 bales ; she is intended to carry 2000, -which quantity, -should the rivers subside, will be shipped in time for her sailing about fie 24th or 25th instant. An equal quantity to that shipped on board the Star of Tasmania, baa been forwarded for shipment At Fort Chalmers. Xhere has been some fluctuation in price of flour, 'Owing to a rise in Melbourne and Dunedin. The following may be accepted as current quotations here : — Oatnaru silk-dressed, L24; Chilian, L26; Adelaide, L31 to L33. Other -commodities have experienced no .change, and stocks are Tcepfc pretty full. Farmers are now looking forward to harvesting, "which will be later than it was last season. Some refreRhing shower* fell to-day, which, after the great heat of the few previous days, should give a great impulse to the growth of vegetation.
