[ cincuiAE. ] 1ITESSRS GILLIES AND STREET beg to intimate to Capitalists, Shareholders in Companies, and the Public generally, that, at the request of many Constituents in the City and Mining Districts, they have determined to enter upon the business of MINING AGENTS, AND STOCK AND SHARE BROKERS, IN ALL 1T3 DEPARTMENTS. In doin'g so, they will adhere to the same rule they have uniformly carried out in the other branches of their business, that of acting simply and solely as Agents in making Purchases and effecting Sales. The advantages to the Public in this principle are especially apparent in Stock and Share Broking, as buyers and sellers must almost entirely be guided in their prices by the advice of their Broker, which advice cannot be reliable where the party giving it is a " Jobber" as well as - M " Broker." GILLIES & STREET will transact business in the Purchase and Sale of Mining Shares and other Securities, Payments of Call, Receipt and Transmission of Dividends in Government Stock and Debentures, Shares in Banking, Insurance, and other Public Companies, and in every description of Shares in the Market ; also, in Loans and Investments on Mortgage, as heretofore. They are making arrangements for having Agents and Correspondents in all the Mining Districts ; and from their already extensive connexion in the Province and Colony, they will be in a position to supply information as to the state and prospect of Mines and Mining Companies, and the value of Shares generally, which will be thoroughly reliable, and at the same time free of charge. GILLIES & STREET will also transact all business connected with the Registration and Starting of New Companies, will place their Shares on the Market, promote their interests, and act as their Agents, provided they are of a bona fide charazhr. GILLIES k STREET, Corner of Princes and Dowling-streets, DUNEDIN. November 15th, 1865.
