OAMARU BUILDING SOCIETY.
A meeting of Committee was held in the Secretary'G office, on 10th inst. Present— Messrs Parker (in the chair), Locke, Gibbs, Fiance, Lemon, Black, Ingram, iFilleul, Pinkerton, and Allan.
The following motions were also carried unanimously : —"That each purchaser of cash bo required to deposit with the Secretary the amount of the surveyor's fee at the time of offering security for his purchase, the fee to be returned in case of the surveyor's services not being required." "That in all cases in which security is offered the ■ecurity must be not less than 50 per cent on land and •tone buildings, and 75 per cent on wooden buildings, above the amount of the loan." " That the secretary request the several parties, when they pay their valuation fee, to deposit their title deeds with mm, for the inspection of the solicitor." "That the communications fiom Messrs J. T. Evans, O. Galbraith, and J. Bruce, offering security, be remitted to the valuator." " That the proposal of Messrs F. Pinkerton & Co., to print the Society's rules at Dunedin prices be accepted, and that 400 copies be forthwith printed, whioh the Society will dispose of at Is each." The accounts for books, Secretary's quarters salary, ko., were passed, amounting to £59 4s. Mr Allan waa present and accepted tho office of 'trustee.
SCALE OF VALUATOR'S FEES. It was carried unanimously that the fees should t>e as iollows : — Within the town boundary, each survey ...£0 10 6 Beyond the town boundary aud within a a radius of 5 miles ... 1 10 0 Beyond 5 „ and within 10 miles ... 2 2 0 » 10 „ „ 15 „ ... 3 3 0 15 , „ 20 „ ... 4 4 0 >) 20 „ by special arrangement.
