Hospital Amendment Act In discussing the Hospital Amendments Act at present before the House of Representatives, the Mangonui Hospital Board passed a resolution that the Board required an assurance from the Minister of Health (Miss M. Howard) that monies accruing tp each Hospital District included in proposals for Amalgamated Board Control, from levies and government subsidies, should be made exclusively for the benefit of the hospitals and allied institutions in the districts concerned. Provision should also be made for the right to appeal to the Minister against any decision by an amalgamated Board which might prove unacceptable to any local Committee of
Management provided for under the proposed legislation. Administration of incidental hospital district finances should also be specified under the Hospital Amendment Act. These w'ere the points under earnest consideration by the Board, and as a result of debate, it was decided to urgently acquaint the Member for Hobson, Mr. S. W. Smith, with these findings, and request that he take the matter up along these lines from the floor of the House. Accordingly, a telegram was sent immediately.
