Personal Mrs. G. Wright and Miss Marie Wright left on Friday to spend a holiday in Auckland. Dance The second of the learners’ dances at Takahue proved a great success' last Friday evening. Mrs. L. White supplied the music and Mr. R. White acted as m.c. Novelty dances caused great merriment. Monte carlos'were won by Miss Beryl Veza and Mr. A. King and Miss C. Bedggood and Mr. B. Switzer. The next dance will be held on Friday, 30th July. * TAKAHUE W.I. The Takahue Women's Institute meeting was presided over by Mrs. H. Sanders. There was only a fair attendance. The roil call was a discussion on the Arts Class. Mrs. S. Carr was appointed Treasurer in place of Mrs. L. Lysaght. The kitchen curtains which were made by Mrs. N. Masters for the annual exhibition were sent to Mrs. J. Gallagher (formerly Miss Betty Wright), who was an Institute member. Competition results were as follows : Knitted garment—Mesdames S. Carr and B. Wright 1, Mesdames Braithwaite and Sanders 2 ; Native shrub—Mrs. Eales 1, Mrs. Carr 2 ; Cabbag;—Mrs. Eales 1, Mrs. Carr 2. Games were won by Mesdames Sanders, N. Rogers, A. Crene and M. Sanders. Luncheon hostesses were Mesdames Carr, B. Wright and M. Sanders. August hostesses will be Mesdames Quarterman, H. Sanders and Watson. Competitions will be arranged at a committee meeting.
