ANNUAL MEETING OF NORTHLAND W.I. FEDERATION
The Northland Federation held their annual meeting in the A. and P. Hall, Kaitaia, on Friday last, Mrs. Shalders presiding over a large attendance. The President opened the meeting with an address on the year’s activities, followed by a re- ! port by the Secretary, Mrs. A. Bird who also spoke on the woi'k of the I local co-ordinating Committee. The I Treasurer, Mrs. McColl, then read the balance sheet. The election for the executive then followed. During the afternoon Mrs. Markwick, President of the Whangarei W.I. Federation, gave a very interesting address on the work of the Institute and also complimented the Northland Federation on the high standard of work on display. The election of officers resulted in : President—Mrs. Shalders ; Committee —Mesdames A. Bird, Knightbridge, P. Wilkinson, Powell, Goodhue (Kaitaia), Braithwaite (Takahue), S. Harris (Mangonui), Gill McColl, R. Matthews (Awanui), Atkinson (Fairburns), B. Trigg, Davis, Berghan (Oruru-Peria). The results of the competition for the silver vase resulted in : Takahue (58) 1, Te Puhi (56) 2, Kaitaia (55) 3 ; Maori W.l.—Ahipara 1.
