Car Hits Horse An accident occurred on the Awanui road iate last Saturday evening, when a ear driven by Mr. Boh Jones of Waipapakauri struck a horse. The front of the car was fairly extensively damaged, and the horse had to be destroyed. Returned Services Social Club The Awanui Returned Services Social Club met for an evening of indoor bowls at th£ Parish Hall, Awanui, last Tuesday. The results of competitions were as follows : Blythe, Boyd and Vazey lost to Blackmoor, Lister and Q. Cosson, 1-3; C. Cosson, Logan, Gill and N. Smith lost to E. Smith, Q. Cosson, Thompson and Hicks, 2-4 ; Hicks, Boyd, Lister and Shaw lost to Vazey, Blackmoor, Cowie and Blythe, 1-4 ; N. Smith, C. Cosson, Q. Cosson and Gill lost to Blythe, E. Smith, Logan and Cowie, 3-6. The winner of the evening’s competition was J. Gill.
