Northland Associated Chambers of Commerce

Annual Conference Next Saturday Next Saturday, November 29th, the annual conference of the Northland Associated Chambers of Commerce will take place at the A. and P. Hall, Kaitaia, commencing at 10 a.m. This is the first time since the h aitaia Chamber was formed that the annual conference of the Association is to b e held in this district, and as such is one of the most important occasions for local members. Mr. Rhys C. Wiliams, who is Presi- i dent of both the Association and the : Kaitaia Chamber, will preside and v-ith delegates from all the other Northland centres will welcome the Secretary of the Dominion Associa-' t'on. Mr. A. O. Heany. Tentative arrangements had been made to receive Mr. Haskell Anderson, President of the Dominion Association and an.authoritv on international finance, but unfortunately his visit was canceled. M*-. Heany, however, will present to the assembled representatives of the Northland Chambers a summary of the functions and aims of the Dominion Association with a view to encouraging the affiliation of the 1 Northland body with the major body. ! Few finer opportunities of gather- ] ing information regarding the world- 6 wide organisation will be presented . to* representatives of Northland’s business community than the visit of Mr. Heany, and all persons whose in- J terest has been aroused are invited to attend the conference and to hear the address of the member of the Dom- e inion Executive. Remits submitted- 11 by the various Chambers will be dis- p cussed and many matters of local . interest will be brought before the delegates. It was anticipated that Mr. Heany would be free to meet members of the local Businessmen’s Association - on Friday evening, but he '"/in not be in Kaitaia overnight.
