BOY SCOUTS

[ By Reef Knot ] Last Monday evening, in spite of the adverse weather condition, a good number rolled up to the weekly meecing. During the evening Barry Bradley was invested as a Boy Scout. Congratulations, Barry, on completing the first step in Scouting. A Church parade will be held on Sunday next, July 27th, at the Presbyterian Church. All members of the Troop are to fall in at the Scout Hall at 10.30 a.m. Ldst week we bid farewell to the Awanui Scouts who have been training with us for the last six weeks. We have enjoyed their stay with us end their progress has been good and now that they are branching out on their own we wish them every success for the future. It is hoped that next month a Scout footba'l team will be able to travel and play against another Scout Troop in Northland. In next week’s column will be published some of the doings of Maurice, Rex and* Allan who are all fit and well and thoroughly enjoying themselves. * The Fourth Grade team to play Ahipara at Ahipara will be as follows, players being requested to report at the N.Z.R. Depot at 11.15 a.m.: C. Wilson, J. Dykes, A. Archibald, R. Masters, C. Pettit, G. Morpeth, G. Wilson, B. Knightbridge, C. Masters, 1. Taaffe, D. Wilkinson, Hetaraka, D. Hansen, Cowie, I. Brljevich, C. Thompson, R. Theed, E. Flinn, R. Subritzky.
