Without removing the hay he took it down to Awanui but it was not accepted because it was too green. * The first meeting of the Community Arts Service was held on Wednesa’ay night. Members’ subscriptions will hold good for this year. Plans and visits were discussed and this year promises to be a full one. * The Dominion President, Mrs. Barnicost of Wellington, will be attending the annual Institute meeting in Kaitaia next month. * Girls’ Marching teams are now practising nightly in preparation for the Kaitaia Show. ft Except for those few drops that fell last Tuesday evening, rain has now not been recorded in Kaitaia for 21 days. •Cr Watch out for some important Swimming Club developments within the next few weeks. Arrangements are now well in hand by members for a plan to raise funds for the provision of a swimming pool for Kaitaia. The Club is to be congratulated for undertaking such a responsible and necessary job. •cr My early forecasts on Beachcomber’s new column “Debris” have been proved very correct.
