ST. SAVIOUR’S LADIES’ GUILD A meeting of inembers of the St. Saviour’s Ladies’ Guild was held in the Parish Hall on Wednesday at 2 p.m. In the absence of Miss C. Holder, the Vicar was requested to preside. The Vicar briefly addressed members, thanking them for their past efforts and exhorting them to even greater efforts during the present year, as much was needed to be done. It was a terrible position when the work of the Church was impeded because of lack of funds, and the hope was expressed that far more parishioners would take an active part in the woi'k of the Guild. The Vicar assured members that they would have his wholehearted support and in his visiting would bring before parishioners the work of the Guild and ask for a larger membership. The Guild then made arrangements for the Annual Dahlia Show to be held in the A. and P. Hall on Friday, 21st February, opening at 1 p.m. The following were appointed judges in the following- sections : Dahlias—Mr. Cave ; Cut flowers — Mrs. Beazley ; Decorative Mrs. Morpeth. Stalls will be run by the following: Cakes—-Mesdames Wild and Mclntosh ; Produce —Mesdames Bill Matthews and Woodall.
