lne flounder spearing has commented and the Awanui Harbour looks like Queen Street before lighting restrictions. It’s a great game this spearing ! Ask the well known Ik and T. employee who in broad daylight, gazing raptly at his favourite strip of beach, walked into an open drain up to his knees—end with boots, socks and pants on, too ! The next evening another enthusiast, carrying a brilliant torch, carefully warned his companions > bout the same drain then blissfully walked oflf ! -*e f> d of the culvert down on to hi.; hands and knees into about 3 feel of water! You’d almost think but t! ey weren’t, either of them, ft And imagine the embarassment of the mother who discovered an essay written by her little daughter, # for submission to the nun- teacher at a Wellington convent, the subject being, “My Best Saturday,” and the body of the composition containing an explicit account of her experiences on the race course at Otaki. The abovementioned parent definitely “had it” when the story of her tussle with the tote was given.
