TENNIS CLUB FUNCTION The annual ball of the Kaitaia Tennis Club attracted a large crowd of darcirs to the A. and P. Hall last Wednesday nigh.. The master of ceremonies, Mr. K. Fyfe, conducted an enjoyable dance programme, the music being provided by Mrs. R. Stitt and Messrs C. Spitz and J. Posinkovich. Prize-winners of Monte Carlo dances were Mrs. P. Wilkinson and Corporal Bruee, and Miss M. Kerr and Mr. Len Parker. A competition was won by Mr. R. McKenzie. VICE VERSA BALL A vice versa ball conducted by the Awanui Patriotic Committee and staged in the Parish Hall, last Friday night, proved an outstanding success in every way. The “belles” of the evening leoked both charming and amusing and did noc appear backward when requested to dance with their “male” escorts. Music supplied by Mrs. R. Stitt and Mr. C. Spitz kept the dancers on the move and the duties of m.c. were in the capable hands of Mr. Charlie Hutley. Mr. and Mrs. G. Marevich ■were winners in the Monte dance.
