R.S.A. DANCE IN KAITAIA

The annual dance in aid of the Mangonui Returned Services’ Association funds was held in the A. and P. Hall on Wednesday, August 4, and, in spite of rough weather conditions and travelling difficulties, attracted an attendance of about 250 which included visitors from Herekino and the far North, and a number of 2nd N.Z.E.F. members on furlough. The programme was fairly apportioned as between old time and modern dances and the dance music, which was provided by Mrs. Stitt, and Mr. C. Spitz and Mr. W. Christensen, was all that could be desired. The Ladies’ Committee had spared no effort in the preparation of a lavish and varied supper which was thoroughly appreciated by everyone. The monte carlo waltzes were won by Miss McKenzie with Mr. W. McCreight, and by Miss Olga Dunn with Aircraftsman Bradford. Mr. J. O’Sullivan acted as M.C.
