Farewell to Mr. and Mrs. T.J. Haughton
A largely attended function was held in the Waiharara Hall on Monday evening, when the people of the surrounding districts fare welled Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Haughton. Mr. Haughton has been transferred to a school near Hamilton. On behalf of the residents, ?' I ~ Wattridge (Chairman of the School Committee) tddressed the gathering. While regretting the loss to the school ar.d district of Mr. and Mrs. Haughton, he wished them both success in their new sphere of activities. Mr. Haughton was then presented with a j fountain pen and an electric iron for I Mrs. Haughton (who was unfortunj ately not able to be present). Blr. | Haughton responded adding words of j kindly advice for members of the j Physical Culture Club of which he j has been Instructor, j During an interval a greatly appreciated supper was served by members ! of the School Committee and friends, j A competition dance was won by Nell Heath and M. Ivicich. Dancing j brought a very enjoyable evening to I a close.
