Red Cross Dance The Comforts Committee of the Oruru Red Cross branch held a most successful dance on Wednesday night. There was a very large crowd, and each surrounding district was well represented. Mr. W. Thomas kept the dances going in quick succession to all the latest tunes rendered by Mrs. W. Christensen’s orchestra with an extra by Miss C. Garton. A monte carlo waltz was won by Mr. and Mrs. Kurtz. Purely Personal Mrs. Jack Green and family of Whangarei are visiting Oruru for the school holidays and are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. J Garton. Mr. and Mrs. Kirk motored south for the school vacation. Mrs. Owein Maria of Auckland has arrived in Oruru, where she will in future reside. Mr. Downes of the dairy factory staff is an inmate of the Kaitaia hospital. Mr. Syd Kitchen, who has been confined to his bed with pneumonia, is now making satisfactory progress. Master Ken* McPherson of Mangatoitoi is spending the school holidays with his aunt, Mrs. E. G. McPherson.
