DEVOTION TO HUMANITY
Sir. —Any unprejudiced pioneer can easily judge the difference between Labour and the Rich Unions. Labour is so entirely devoted to the material interests of the Nation that it has made our fertile islands Humanity Isles cf the Pacific—and in spite of the invective propaganda of Rich Unionism, whose politics are still Lascd on individual welfare, and v hose political record has been one cf poverty, humiliation, homcwrecking, bankruptcy and pawnbroking, and now its devotees are desperately trying to get on the Treasury Benches to again control this Democracy by the private banking monetary system of inflating and deflating ir. the usual way. Many thousands of the primary producers have experienced from that money mongering ir.cubus on successful economic progression. Although no reform is more urgently needed, it is remarkable tha in all this plausible prediction abou A a new civilisation in a new world nothing has yet been said about that salutary and literally indispensable reformation of the hitherto distressful money system. May I pertinently ask why is this? Is there any sensible citizen who car. imagine that that reform would be effected by the Rich Unions? If so they may yet get a rude awakening Propaganda has become a fine art —too artful for the unsophisticated electors. It has never been more wisely said than that eternal vigilince is the price of liberty and righteousness. One woud think that the Nazi and Fascist horrors woud convert the animal propensities of greed into a more human and humane amenity. But that disorder - creating desire seems to be increasing to such ar alarming ■ extent that there are citizens seemingly trying to encourage insurrection although this country has never been in a more prosperous condition, despite the dastardly attempts of the Fascist Unions. Labour is as far removed from Fascism as Socialism is from Capitalism in their economic amenities. Are we, then, to permit the money mongers to again become rampant and an incorrigible incubus blocking economic progression towards the haven tljat assuredly can be, and will yet be, established in this land that Nature has so lavishly provided with nearly every requisite that reasonable citizens can desire. Perish the thought 1 We have excellent reasons for optimism. Pessimism is the synonym of Capitalism and its associate Fascism. Both are anachronisms and utterly unfit for usage in this cultured Democracy or in the new civilisation ar.d new world that we, the optimists, are to enjoy if the Fascist Unions will stop their treacherous propaganda of the Nazi kind and allow us to win this war. Ycurs, etc., WILLIAM R. KEAY.
