Letters (ordinary) : Inland (including Cook Islands, Niue and Western Samoa). 2d first ounce, Id each additional i ounce ; British Countries, Egypt and Iraq.—2d first h ounce, Id each additional i ounce; Foreign Countries (except Egypt and Iraq).—3d first h ounce, Id each additional J ounce. Letters (air mail) : Inland.—3d each i ounce ; Great Britain and Ireland.—l/6 each i ounce (1/7 if for despatch by air in New Zealand also) ; Other Countries. Rates vary (enquire at Post Office). Late Fee : 2d additional to postage. Registration Fee : 4d additional to postage. Express Delivery Fee : 6d each mile ■up to three, additional to postage ; double rates for articles between 3 lb and 6 lb (maximum). Postcards : Ordinary. Overseas lid ; Air Mail. —Inland Ed, Overseas rates vary (enquire at Post Office). Commercial Papers (accounts, invoices, and other formal business papers or documents not in the nature of letters) : Inland. —ld first 4 ounces, id each additional 2 ounces; Overseas. 2id first 10 ounces, id each additional 2 ounces. Printed Papers (Inland) : Greetings and visiting cards etc., notices of meetings and notices generally, invitations, non-advertising circulars, photographs, printed music, voting papers, postage stamps (obliterated), Post Guide Company letters.— Id first 4 ounces, id each additional
2 ounces ; Other printed papers, including all printed advertising matter, newspapers and magazines not printed in New Zealand or not registered in New Zealand, catalogues, price lists, etc.—id each 2 ounces. Printed Papers (Overseas) : Id first 4 ounegs, id each additional 2 ounces. Registered Magazines printed in New Zealand . Inland.—ld each 8 ounces ; Overseas.—ld first 4 ounces, id each additional 2 ounces. Registered Newspapers, printed in New Zealand : Inland i each copy under 4 ounces ; British Countries. —id each copy under 3 ounces ; Foreign Countries. —id each copy under 2 ounces. Library-exchange Books (available only to and from libraries, etc., not conducted for profit) : id each 4 ounces. Packets (Inland) : Minimum of 3d up to 6 ozs, thereafter rising Id for each 2 oz. Parcels (Inland) : Minimum of 8d 1 for 3 lb, 1/3 for 7 lb, then ri-sing 9d for each addition-D 7 lb. For special rates on air mail parcels and parcels that exceed in size ordinary parcel post limits, enquire at Post Office. Telegrams (Inland) : Ordinary.—Sd up to 6 words, Id for each additional word ; Sundays and Holidays.—Rate and a half ; Urgent.— 8d additional to ordinary charge. Money Order Telegrams : Ordinary 1/2, Urgent 1/10. Postal Note Commission : 1/- to 2/6, 2d ; 3/- to 7/6, 3d ; 8/- to 15/-, 4d ; 15/6 to 20/-, sd. Money Order Commission : 6d up to £6 and Id for each additional £1 or fraction.
