Dairy Output for Last Month
In a circular to suppliers the Kaitaia Co-operative Dairy Company advised that the output at the factory for the month of January was 335 tons 14 cwt. 3 qrs. 2 lb. This represents an increase of 36 tons 6 cwt. 2 qrs. over the figures for January of last year. For the seven months of the present season the output is 1493 tons 14 cwt. 2 qrs. 10 lb as compared with 1426 tons 19 cwt. 2 qrs. 19 lb for the corresponding period of the previous season, or an increase of 66 tons 14 cwt. 3 qrs. 19 lb or 4.68 percent. The high production during January is being maintained, and given normal conditions during the next two months the season’s production should approximate that of the 193738 season. Further information given in the circular is that advance payments against January butterfat at 1/2 per lb finest grade will amount to £35,644 as against £32,922 for January of last year at l/2i, an increase of £2722. Advances for the seven months of this season as compared with the corresponding period of the last one show an increase of £1741.
