WE NOW KNOW OUR FRIENDS

Sir. —By knowing our friends, we then can know our enemies since 1931. And surely no sensible man or woman will make any mistake about that, the evidence being so transparently obvious since the wonderful change in our welfare has been effected by humanitarian statesmen whose humane polity is now being so cunningly imitated by Capitalism “the common eneiny of Humanity.” That terrible indictment is not in the least exaggerative. And every student of our political economy knows that only by creating free money can freedom to enjoy universal felicity be created. It appears that this has been confirmed by a Royal Commission appointed by the Lyons Government. The Commis-

sioners’ report says that “The Commonwealth Bank can make money available to Governments or others free of charge.” That report opens up an economic vista having tremendous consequences for the welfare of every citizen in New Zealand. We are tired of being fooled by Capitalists, and at last have found that honesty is the best policy. When the son of an old Scottish farmer was leaving his home, his father said : “Honesty is the best policy, my son, I’ve tried them both.” We also have tried them both, and now dread the thought of political dishonesty. Yours, etc., WILLIAM R. KEAY.
