PREVENTION OF CRUELTY
Sir.—Beside the contest for supremacy on the Treasury Benches to create or find money to benefit human beings, there are other beings that should also be considered, i.e., our indispensable animals ; whether money to provide winter food especially, will be more freely supplied by Socialism than by Capitalism. We all know the cruel resultant effects' that hitherto have prevented the welfare of animals by the inhuman and unnecessary scarcity of money. Yours, etc., CIVIS.
